Tigerway Team Members and Families,

Starting SATURDAY, APRIL 6TH, 2024, Coach Calvin Cheung will be leading the first In-Person Group Coaching session right in Boston!

Along with Tigerway’s online private coaching program, we believe continuing our pre-pandemic format of in-person group coaching will allow students to learn in highly engaged settings.

The first class will take place on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 9:30 am - 11:30 am at a studio classroom near Boylston St (More information on the call).

This opportunity will also allow students to make new friends, expand their network in the Boston area, and feel more motivated to succeed with other determined students. The intense training will influence students to feel more prepared for today’s competitive college admissions environment.

Our program will not only focus on the SAT Exam. It will be a comprehensive College Preparation program designed for Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors to be ready for the rigors of college.

We believe that High School students who are prepared to succeed in college will end up with better internship offers, better full-time job offers, and more opportunities for their careers over the long term.

Here’s how it will work.  

• Program Content: 

  • Academics: The Program is broadly focused on developing strong Math and English skills that will build a foundation to make students successful back in their HS Classes, the SAT/ACT, the College Essay, as well as fundamental study habit skills to succeed in college. Your teen can expect to develop a stronger relationship with Problem Solving (Math) and also develop writing skills (English) that will impress their teachers and future admission officers. We’ll also help them become more effective readers so that they can consume MORE information in less time (Critical thinking) while maintaining comprehension. Essentially, we are looking to increase the IQ of our students over the long-term and we will work to have that reflected in both Grades, Test Scores, and College Outcomes.

  • College Consulting: We will dedicate one session per month focused on College Consulting Strategies, where we showcase data, strategies, and advice for students looking to apply to competitive schools where admit rates are under 30%. College admissions have become less predictable than in the past, but the same rules apply: great applicants have great probabilities of success. We will turn you into a great applicant.

  • Extracurricular Advice: In our College Consulting sessions, we’ll discuss how to create a niche college admissions profile in the process even if you haven’t yet joined any Team Sports, Music Organizations, or School Clubs. It’s not just about grades and scores but about how your profile aligns with your demographic.

  • Study Skills & Habits: Throughout all sessions, we will share the best ways to become a highly productive and efficient student. We’ll show processes and routines that allow you to maximize your time and create a plan to help you organize your college strategy.

  • Mindset Training: Our classes will be designed to help strengthen the mindset of your students and help them develop a more “competitive” mindset to achieve his/her longer-term goals. For students who are laid back, We will transform a “passive” mindset into an “active” one so that you can see a more driven version of your teen. For students who are already ambitious, we will help them cope with performance management anxiety and learn to harness their emotions to their advantage. 

• Timeline: One class weekly - on Sundays 9:30 - 11:30 am after the start date of April 6th, 2024.
