The Increasing Cost of College Tuition Rising to $100k
Learn about the increase in college tuition and how to prepare for it as incoming students for higher education

Tigerway Team Members and Families,
In this email, I will write you about college tuition increases and the importance of scholarship opportunities. Make sure you pay attention if you or your student is applying for college! Tuition commonly rises every year but recently has reached a crucial level.
Another trend in colleges is growing, and it's about tuition…
Vanderbilt University has recently increased its tuition price nearing the $100,000 mark for incoming students. This not only raises concerns about affordability but also underscores the IMPORTANT role of scholarships in ensuring equitable access to education.
The cost of tuition fees is continually increasing, and Vanderbilt's upcoming six-figure attendance cost indicates this trend. This has led to widespread discussions about the financial challenges that students and families face. However, despite these challenges, scholarships provide some hope by offering a way for students to access educational opportunities.
For the 2024-25 school year, Vanderbilt University has unveiled its staggering price to attend. With expenses including room, board, personal necessities, and technology, the total sum is about $98,426! For out-of-state and international students, the tuition could easily surpass the $100,000 threshold. While this figure remains an outlier, it foreshadows a trend where select institutions may soon also join this financial barrier.
As the cost of education continues to rise, ensuring accessibility remains essential
Vanderbilt's substantial spending per undergraduate, coupled with generous financial aid provisions, prompts reflection on the value of education.
Scholarships not only provide temporary financial relief but also promote fairness in the education system. Institutions can cultivate a dynamic community of learners, enriched by diverse perspectives and experiences.
Whether need-based or merit-based, these financial aids empower students to pursue their academic dreams without surrendering to financial strain.
Scholarships enable students to access resources, mentorship, and opportunities that shape their academic journey and future trajectory. As we evaluate the cost-benefit of higher education, it's essential to recognize the value of scholarships in encouraging intellectual growth, personal development, and societal progress. Our College Consulting team at Tigerway can help you evaluate this.
As college tuitions continue to rise, it is important to recognize this trend early and take advantage of educational scholarships. By doing so, you can reprioritize your application for better schools and more financial aid.
