June SAT Exam Forecast now uploaded in Discord for Tigerway Team Members
Dear Tigerway Team Members, Parents, and Prospective Families,
June Forecast Uploaded into Discord
The June SAT Exam forecast is now uploaded into the Tigerway Discord server for Team Members. Just a note that our forecast for the June exam is very similar to the May test, as we do not see significant changes on the SAT until the upcoming August exam.
Thoughts on the continued importance of the SAT Exam
In this post, I want to highlight my views on the short-term benefits of the SAT and college planning and the long-term benefits of investing in yourself at this stage of your high-school education.
The Short-Term Benefits of Tigerway (stronger SAT scores / more college acceptances)
Every family already knows that high grades and strong SAT scores along with a great extracurricular profile allow for better success in the college admissions process.
This cycle, we had 3 Tigerway Team Members get into Harvard, 1 into Cornell, and 1 Dartmouth, and many, many more (at least 30+) into schools such as UCLA, USC, Northeastern, BU, NYU, and Tufts.
I’ve been doing this for quite a long time - I know our methodologies work wonders in terms of raising scores and getting our teenagers into the colleges that they desire most.
We routinely get people from SAT 1200 to over a 1400 or from a 1400 to over a 1500+.
And we also get people into name-brand schools year after year.
That said, for those of you who are following my thinking closely, you would know that I am a very strong believer that high SAT scores and getting into your dream college is just the beginning.
And this is where we discuss the long-term benefits of Tigerway
Long-Term Benefits of Tigerway (life long skills/being able to adapt in various economic cycles)
Fundamentally speaking, I believe that high-school typically marks the last opportunity for most students to embrace a liberal arts curriculum, where students can learn broad subjects such as History, Sciences, Foreign Language, English, and Math.
Once a person begins college, they start specialization in their career paths based on their intended major (unless they are undecided).
For this reason, I believe that high-school also represents once of the most important moments in time to build significant fundamentals in Math and English, which are the two core pillars that define how we learn in any subject.
Math = problem solving/critical thinking
English = verbal communication/clear persuasive writing
Once a person is sufficiently strong in Mathematics and English, their ability to study any major regardless of natural interest is greatly enhanced. With strong skills in Math and English, you can be successful in Computer Science, Business, Health Sciences, or Engineering.
Inside our program, we make a huge push towards helping our team member students see the big picture benefits on being strong in these areas for the SAT:
How to leverage problem solving skills and see patterns that other people cannot and make advanced conclusions
How to use strong writing skills to impress anyone from your future college admissions officer to your future business partners
How strong reading skills allows you to absorb material faster and set you up for a more efficient way to study longer-term
I know that everybody is focused on scores, and college outcomes.
To me, those outcomes are extremely basic, and if those were the only outcomes that we helped our team members secure, then I’d be very disappointed.
We focus on growing skills.
Skills that last a lifetime.
Skills that will be used to help you reach the top 1% of society in terms of your career and social aspirations.
This summer is starting soon for high school teens. Don’t waste it. Join Tigerway, and start raising your SAT Scores, College Admission Chances, and lifelong critical thinking skills.
