Learn how Tigerway's Remote Coaching has helped students like me excel in all types of learning environments
This email is written by Jasmine Ngo, Tigerway’s Program Officer.
Tigerway Parents and Students,
In this email, I wanted to share a story about my experience in high school and how my transition from in-person classes to remote learning has helped me gain valuable skills for my college success.
Because of the pandemic, remote learning has become the new norm for many students like me. It brought in a new learning environment that allows students to learn anywhere they want to be. As a senior in high school, I had to adjust to remote learning due to the pandemic. After three years of in-person engagement, everything turned to Zoom and Google Classroom. It was strange to accept the new reality that I wasn’t going to see my classmates or teachers in person again for a while.
But I learned two very important skills from remote learning: Self Discipline and Time Management
This change taught me how to work independently, prioritize my work, and set my own schedules.
I learned two incredibly important life skills: self-discipline and time management.
These skills were invaluable in helping me maintain the balance between my academic responsibilities and personal life.
Self-discipline and time management are highly valued in the workforce, where employees are often expected to work independently and manage their own projects. By adapting to remote learning, I was able to gain skills that would have been challenging to develop in a traditional classroom setting.
I was able to end my senior year strong and start my college experience even stronger.
The change that I experienced at this time was not only about adapting to remote learning; it was about embracing a growth mindset that allowed me to develop essential skills for success. I was able to find resources on my own and get support and guidance from Coach Larry, Tigerway, and more.
These resources helped me finish the last half of my senior year strong with college preparation and even now as a Junior in college with internships, academics, and leadership experience.
