Fall Program Updates: Higher SAT Scores for our Students To Boost Admission Chance at Competitive Universities
Dear Students and Parents,
Tigerway has helped multiple students grow their SAT Scores and academic confidence this Fall as we’ve detailed out in our previous email editions!
Our students recently took the October Digital SAT Exam and in their mock exams, most students have been seeing score growth in the +60-180 point region.
Coach Calvin recently had some observations to share when it comes to test taking success.
His study advice for students is for them to do the following 30-45 days ahead of the exam:
Increase the allocation of drills time relative to content review as you head closer into the exam
Increase the time spent on “harder” questions in practice rather than going over “easier” questions
In the final days leading up to the exam, review all key formulas so that you don’t need to spend time referencing them during the actual exam.
For more advanced students who are aiming for top scores on math and English, his advice was that if you see the harder Module 2 version of the exam, be prepared for more difficult vocabulary-in-context questions and more challenging algebraic word problems to appear.
Ultimately, getting the score you worked for is a giant boost in academic confidence as well as a very practical way to increase your odds of getting into your top choice college.
There are now many nuances when it comes to college admissions at U.S. universities with selective admission rates of less than 20%. We want to be able to help you position for success by preparing ahead of time.
University admissions at top schools is becoming more and more challenging every single year. As an example, one of Boston’s most popular Universities - Northeastern University - used to have an acceptance rate in the 28-32% range during the 2013-2015 timeframe!
Their acceptance rate has fallen significantly since then - now closer to 8-10% - implying that the competition to get in is stronger than ever.
Using Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year strategically is going to pay off once college admission season comes in Senior year.
We help students in-person in a group setting with Coach Calvin Cheung or through 1:1 online coaching with our roster of star coaches. We have plenty of options to help you succeed.
