Exciting Announcement: Big Upgrade To Library With More Digital SAT Exam Strategy, Content, and Practice
More Resources for our Students
Note: This email is written by Larry Cheung, our program’s Founder.
Dear Students and Parents,
We hope you are having an amazing start to 2025! Every year we make a strong committment towards ensuring that we have the most updated, the most helpful, and the most powerful strategies on the SAT Exam and the College Admissions process. This year is no different - we continue to heavily invest in having the best possible resources for our students.
We’ve gone ahead and made major purchases for a big upgrade to our library of books to ensure our students have ample high-quality practice problems for targeted drilling to systematically grow SAT scores.
Our specialty on the Digital SAT is on the entire exam for both mathematics and English. We know the nuances of the following concepts tested on the test:
The new types of vocabulary questions that now appear on the Digital SAT (completely different from previous version)
New Reading Comprehension strategies based on the Digital SAT’s reading comprehension question type
New strategies on the Math section on how to tackle the hardest questions on the exam to get the best possible score.
New Books and Best Strategies to Tackle the Digital SAT are arriving for our students. This is ON TOP OF the ample resources that we already provide to students.
My Team and I will continue to invest in the best resources to help our Community best maximize their growth potential on the SAT Exam.
We’ve witnessed over the years how much a student can grow academically and open up NEW doors in the college admissions process. We estimate that a 1-year timeframe is enough for a student to make large transformational jumps from say a 1170-1250 SAT score all the way to a 1430-1500 if given the right direction and mentorship.
If a student were to start in the 1050-1150 range, we see these cohorts of students making the jump to 1300-1350 all the time in a 1-year timeframe. And I emphasize, all the time. I know this because my Private Coaches are routinely helping students make these jumps.
More importantly than SAT score jumps though is what the score growth represents. To our program at Tigerway, it represents the following long term benefits for students:
A rising Math score means that you are getting BETTER at problem solving. It means you can think faster, and you are literally getting more efficient at thinking under stressful conditions. A rising Math score could also lead to doing homework problems back in school or later in college with greater efficiency AND more accuracy at the same time. Think about it: a higher math score means that you don’t make many mistakes even when stressed. That’s valuable!
A rising English score means that you are able to read FASTER and at the SAME TIME comprehend something better than someone else who is reading the same exact thing SLOWER. If you compound this type of learning pace over time, the person who can read faster with more accuracy is going to have a much easier time in college (and beyond) than someone who reads slowly and somehow still doesn’t grasp the comprehension of the passage.
We want to emphasize that for the upcoming college admissions season, all factors in your application are in play: Grades, Standardized Testing, and Extracurricular/Leadership.
Everything is important. Do your best to improve in all areas of your future application.
We recently spoke with an experienced college admissions officer and a college advisor. Here’s what they said:
“The SAT/ACT is one of the best standardized and objective metrics in the entire application review process. It’s because a 1400/1500 on the SAT has universal meeting. Together with strong grades in rigorous classes, they serve as pre-requisites to check off the box in a competitive incoming pool of applicants.
Many other aspects of the application can be very subjective. High School students can’t control what extracurricular activities/clubs/sports are offered at their high school.
What they can control are their Grades and Scores. For this reason, before we even look at the extracurricular profile (unless the applicant is a recruited athlete), we have to check off the box in Grades/Scores first.
Once that box is checked off, then we look for distinguishing factors in the extracurricular profile.”
From this conversation, we know the importance of focusing on all areas of the application. But what comes first? Checking off the box in Grades and Scores.
We’re assembling the best team of Coaches and resources for our program. We think high school Juniors who are putting their best foot forward on Grades, Scores, and Leadership activities this year put themselves at a huge advantage come Early Decision applications later this Fall.
Families with Freshman and Sophomores who plan ahead almost always have an advantage in the admissions process. Thoughtful early planning always wins.
We would love to help more families looking to find success on the SAT Exam and the College Admissions process. Please feel free to forward our email to friends and family.
